Ingredients

2 large yellow onions

4 tbsp unsalted butter

1/4 cup olive oil

2 tbsp K-Dawg Sweet & Spicy

1/2 cup chopped green chile

4 oz cream cheese (room temperature)

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup quality mayonnaise
Instructions

Slice the onions
Cut onions in half, then slice into thin 1/8-inch half-rounds. -
Caramelize
Heat butter and olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add K-Dawg Sweet & Spicy Rub and onions. Sauté for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to medium-low and cook an additional 20 minutes until onions are soft, browned, and caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. -
Mix the base
In a mixer bowl fitted with a paddle attachment, beat cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth and creamy. -
Combine
Add cooled onion mixture and chopped green chile. Mix until fully incorporated.
Serve
Chill for at least 30 minutes for best flavor. Serve with your favorite chips, toasted baguette slices, or fresh veggies.
